Poultry In Motion

It’s fair to say that we, at Resource, are well versed in the unusual, but when our client, Publicis Groupe, got in touch about their latest requirement, well we let’s just say we very needed to get a breast of the situation very swiftly and we needed to hatch a plan.

To start with we needed to produce 12 life size Chickens, which needed to be couped in a high-quality presentation box, which then turned into a display stand.  The box had to be printed with a specific design so that when the user logged onto the clients app, the Chicken would magically spring into life and ruffle some feathers.

In addition to this, was a beautifully casebound sales aid which included a video screen within the book. We needed to find some hen-credible technology to get this done.

It was clear this project was going to be no yolk, and had to be planned egg-xactly.  There could be no room for wing-ing it.

To turn the pixels into plumage, the Chicken was 3D printed from hard coated polystyrene and each one was meticulously hand painted to such a high standard, you genuinely had to double take to make sure this wasn’t a real Chicken. The finished product was brooding brilliant.

Bespoke wooden and branded crates where then produced to scramble the Chicken and the books around the world.

Projects with so many aspects to it are egg-credibly rewarding to be involved in, but of course part of the planning was finding a pecking order for them to be completed in.

The whole job was far more than just a featherweight champion of design and production. Creating razor sharp roostery realism, has proven to be one of the most talked about products we’ve ever produced.  Now we need to go and drum(stick) up some more avian business.
