The Power of Large Format Printing: Transforming Spaces and Brands

In today’s competitive market, large format printing is a game-changer for businesses looking to make a bold statement. From exhibition stand graphics, to eye-catching banners, building site hoarding, retail displays and wall murals, the impact of high-quality large format printing is impressive and undeniable.

What is Large Format Printing?

Large format printing refers to oversized printing that goes beyond standard printing and can range in sizes from 50cm to several meters wide. A whole host of materials can be used, such as vinyl, PVC, fabric, metal and many more. Ink technology is environmentally safe but also durable.  Large format printing is ideal for indoor and outdoor use.

Large format printing is more than just big prints—it’s about making a lasting impression. Whether for branding, decoration, or promotion, it remains a powerful and impactful tool in visual marketing and advertising.

Why Businesses invest in Large Format Printing

1.Maximum Visibility – Whether on a billboard or a storefront, large prints ensure your message is seen and remembered.

2.Customization – From branded wallpapers to floor graphics, businesses can create unique, tailor-made marketing materials.

3.Durability – Modern printing technology offers UV-resistant, waterproof, and weatherproof materials, ideal for long-term use.

4.Cost-Effective Advertising – A one-time investment in a high-quality banner or vehicle wrap can generate brand exposure for months or years.

5. Flexibility – Turn your high impact creativity into many different products, such as boxes, totems, signage, window decoration, floor graphics, roller banners, over-sized packaging and so much more.

Large format printing is at the heart of everything we do. We are proud of the amazing quality we produce and would love to show you just how flexible we can be and make your business, products and services really stand out from the crowd.

Making A Splash with Biotiful.

January 2025 saw Biotiful Gut Health launch their “Reset Your Gut Health” campaign, and Resource were delighted to be part of that project with the design, production and installation of their window display at the flag ship Whole Foods Market store on the exclusive Kensington High Street.

With this being an incredibly detailed display, and an installation date being set for early January, it certainly served to make sure our festive minds were quickly “reset” and into the task of making this one of the most impactful window displays we have ever done.

The windows were adorned with vinyl graphics and built-up Foamex board to give 3D depth. Internally we sourced all the furniture and kitchen utensils and created amazing life like fruit from a resin-based compound.

Possibly the real challenge of whole display was the life like “splash” being dispensed from the over-sized bottle into the mixer.  This was produced from acrylic which was printed and then laser cut to achieve the classic splash shape.

This was a multi-aspect window, meaning it was viewed both inside and outside, and for the outside aspect we also produce two lightboxes that would be incredibly eye-catching from the busy pavements of Kensington.

With over a quarter of a million people a week passing by this display, we knew it had to be something special, a scene that would make people stop and take it in rather than a passing glanceThe feedback we have had suggests it was mission accomplished.

Calendars are Not Just for Christmas

Like most of us who work at Resource, owners Darren & Sue are dog lovers.  But unlike most of us, their love of our furry four-legged friends goes way beyond two walks a day and a cuddle on the sofa.

Over the last 10-years Darren and Sue have supported the amazing Apollos Angels, which since 2022 has held registered charity status, and is committed to rescuing mainly Pointers from Cyprus.  In that time, they have provided forever homes for 3 dogs and fostered an incredible 14 more dogs whilst their new home is being found.

Each year, as part of Apollo’s support, Resource prints free of charge their yearly calendar and Christmas cards, which feature hundreds of pictures of the wonderful, rescued dogs. You can also read the story of Apollo, the very first rescued pointer. It’s heartbreaking and heartwarming in equal measures.

To find out and support the work Apollos Angles do, or maybe you are thinking about adopting, which is way easier than you might think, you can make contact via the following channels…

With over 1500 Pointers now successfully and lovingly rehomed in the UK, the charity goes from strength to strength with an incredible team of people in Cyprus and in the UK, and like a dog, fundraising isn’t just for Christmas, with dog food, branded clothing, for the you and the dog, and whole host of online activities, such as auctions and raffles.

Please support if you can.

Resource On Show at Oxford Utd

Haddenham Youth Football Club

Resource is proud to be the shirt and training top sponsor of local grassroots team Haddenham Youth Football Club U11’s.

In November 2024, Championship side Oxford Utd were hosting Millwall in a league game and the lads from Haddenham were invited to be the Guard of Honour as the two teams took to the pitch.

A 1-1 draw played out on the day, and the lads had a great time sampling the atmosphere from the pitch and meeting their heroes before and after the game.

At Resource, supporting efforts from within our local community is incredibly important to us, and we wish Haddenham Youth a successful rest of their season.

Low Energy Creating High Energy Results

Huel products are all about powering up your health and energy and caring about the environment, and the reason Huel love using Resource is we share the same values and, of course, consistently bringing their product and point of sale designs to life.

Huel has a simple but very effective mission statement…

As a business we are incredibly conscious of our own environment, so this very much aligns with our own beliefs, as we focus on using sustainable materials, low energy processes and a stringent waste management that focuses on minimising this aspect as much as we can.

For Huel, we were tasked to produce some visually stunning boxes and point of sale material, and whilst the finished products were incredibly pleasing, maintaining that focus on being kind to the environment, through the process, was important.

All materials used are fully recyclable, as you would expect, but the most important aspect of this project is how we produce the high varnish finish that dominates the Huel Brand on their packaging.

After the visual is initially printed with our range eco-friendly inks, the image is then over-printed with a clear ink and then cured under LED ultraviolet lighting.  This allows the amazing shine to really stand out from the raw material of the box, whilst maintaining super-low energy consumption.

Being a busy printing business, ink is obviously fundamental to our work, so we are proud that we have invested in the very best, which means both incredible quality but also VERY eco-friendly.

  • Greenguard Certified for Safety
  • Solvent and VOC Free
  • No Drying Process (low energy)
  • Quality Ink = Lower Consumption
  • Versatile to all Materials

Whilst innovation within the print industry continues to progress that largely focuses on speed and multi-functionality, the importance of the raw materials being used and the impact on our environment will always remain our primary focus.

Poultry In Motion

Poultry In Motion Brochure and Chicken

At Resource we are well versed in the unusual, but when our client Publicis Groupe got in touch regarding their latest requirement, it took things to another level.

First, we needed to produce 12 life-size chickens which needed to be housed in a high-quality presentation box which turned into a display stand. The box had to be printed with a specific design so that when the user logged onto the client’s app, the chicken would come to life via the magic of AI.

In addition to this, a beautifully casebound sales aid was designed and produced which included a video screen within the book.

The chicken was 3D printed from hard coated polystyrene and each one was meticulously hand painted to an incredibly high standard.

Bespoke wooden and branded crates were then produced to transport the chicken and the books around the world.

The whole job was a real champion of design and production. Creating razor-sharp realism has proven this to be one of the most talked about products we’ve ever produced.

A Challenge of Metallic Proportions…

Spacegoods Window display

Being an approved supplier of window displays to Whole Foods Market, we were kindly introduced to Spacegoods, leading providers within the functional mushroom market.

Launched in 2022, Spacegoods has quickly become one the most recognisable brands on some very busy shop shelves.  With their stunning pink and blue metallic packaging, it’s guaranteed to catch your eye.

Re-creating metallic printed packaging is incredibly challenging, but given the time and importance that Spacegoods have put into their branding, it was equally critical we developed a way to display this feature on the over-sized point-of-sale items.

After a few trial runs we found the formula to produce a metallic finish with printing methods and perfectly matched the fluorescent pink and blue with the result being one of the most pleasing products we have ever created

  • Corrugated Board for Product Plinths – Printed and Assembled
  • Foamex Board for hanging signage – Printed and Precision Cut
  • The amazing oversized metallic packages will remain a closely guarded trade secret!

The 4 Day Candy Kitten Challenge

Candy Kitten Window Display Corner

When the gourmet sweet company Candy Kittens contacted us for an important window display that needed producing and installing, all seemed quite straight forward.  Then the kicker…” we need this in 4 days’ time”

The display required vinyl window graphics, over-sized packaging, which needed hanging, and fitted astro turf laid on the display floor. All straight forward, but quite time consuming when producing bespoke products from scratch.

But that wasn’t all.

Part of the window in question was a curved design, and we needed to design and produce a framework than would fit seamlessly against the window, creating a pocket that meant over 5000 packets of Candy Kitten packets could be safely displayed.

4-days for a project of this size and nature was incredibly tight, but we did have a few aspects in our favour. Firstly, we have installed displays before in this location, so we know the layout and what we were dealing with. Secondly, we keep a huge variety of materials in stock, meaning we weren’t relying on our own supply chain to help us keep our promise. And thirdly, a dedicated team of people willing to work the extra hours this would undoubtedly take.

It was close, very close, but in just under 4-days from the phone calls and emails that set the wheels in motion, Candy Kittens had their designs brought to life and on display to the users of London’s pavements, and 5000 packets of their delicious sweets, securely positioned behind the glass and the bespoke frame to tempt people to try their range of healthy treats.

Mission, and it was a mission, accomplished.

A very happy and grateful client – our favourite kind – was secured.

Business Development Manager, Sadie

What was the highlight from your first week at Resource?

My highlight of the week was meeting everyone and being made very welcome, like I have always been a part of the team!

Tell us a little more about your career in the Print Industry.

It began in 2018, where I quickly immersed myself in both print production and design, and now with extensive experience in promotional merchandise, and collaborating with renowned brands such as Salesforce and Snapchat, amongst many others. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a clients vision come to life.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy going to the gym most days and setting myself new challenges! I love going out to music events and discovering new music. Most importantly, I love being with my Chihuahua, Marlo, more than anything – going on walks or being at her beck and call, giving her treats!

How long until you show Darren what a real house playlist sounds like?

I reckon I could convince Darren to put on my House Music playlist over Christmas songs!

Welcome to the team Sadie, exciting times ahead!

Old & Tired to Fresh & Inspiring

North Hertfordshire College Signage

When Tired & Old Becomes Inspiring & Fresh

When North Hertfordshire College embarked on the new venture of establishing SITEC – (Stevenage Innovation & Technology Centre) the target was to breathe new life to an old and slightly tired campus building with window and wall graphics and various signage.

SITEC aims to provide an inspiring space for local people to learn the skill sets, knowledge and experience to enhance their careers within the Stevenage Technical and Manufacturing (STEM) sector.

Following on from two site visits to conduct detailed measurements, Resource was then tasked to work closely with the in-house marketing team at the College to bring their designs to life.

Once production was completed at the Resource factory, our team spent 4 days on site, taking meticulous care that every aspect of the job was installed and displayed perfectly.

Product Specification for this project was…

  • Diabond with anti-graffiti lamination
  • Drytac Deco Clear Vinyl with anti-graffiti lamination
  • Ultratac White Vinyl with anti-graffiti lamination
  • White & Blue Acrylic

With all the graphics and signs being installed in public areas, the desire to keep it’s pristine delivered condition was high, so using a clear lamination acted as an easy clean of any graffiti or dirty marks.
